In Remembrance: Michael Lansberry
Prior to the start of the school day on October 21, 2013, a 12-year-old Sparks Middle School student opened fire with a semi-automatic handgun on school grounds. To protect other students, Michael Lansberry, a 7th grade science teacher and ex-Marine, attempted to intervene when he was shot and killed by the gunman. Two students were shot and wounded before the gunman turned the gun on himself.
PublicSchoolWORKS sends their condolences to all those affected by the Sparks Middle School shooting.
