Awareness Highlight: Preparing for National Bullying Prevention Month
Started as an awareness program introduced by PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center in October 2006, October’s National Bullying Prevention Month is now a full-fledged initiative full of events and activities to help raise attention to the myriad concerns about bullying. The goal of National Bullying Prevention Month is to not only raise awareness about bullying and provide the latest resources to those who need them, it is to inform society that bullying can be addressed through education and support.
PACER introduced these new events and resources for this year’s National Bullying Prevention Month:
- “The End of Bullying Begins With Me” Petition
- Unity Day and “Make it Orange and Make it End”
- New Student Event Toolkit
- Classroom Toolkits
- Sign up your school or district to become a Champion Against Bullying
